Zürich Zoo has been transformed into a landscaped zoo where animals are kept in enclosures planted and designed to imitate their natural habitats as closely as possible.
Andes highlands, Himalayan mountains, Asian wetlands, South American mountain vegetation and rainforest - these are just some of the types of scenery you will find at the zoo, inhabited by vicuñas, small pandas, demoiselle cranes, spectacled bears and dwarf monkeys.
In Zürich you can see around 2,000 animals and over 260 species including some zoological rarities such as pileated gibbons, great anteaters, clouded leopards, black rhinoceros, dwarf hippopotamus, king penguins, keel-billed toucans, Galapagos giant tortoises, Siamese crocodiles and spotted gars, to name but a few. The many heated vivariums make for an unforgettable visit even when the weather is bad.
Visitors will now be able to 'discover' the new Masoala Rainforest exhibit in a very special way. Little human beings meet little animals in the Zoolino.
